Very proud to offer my first run of prints from the series called "The Fish l've Met." This piece, "Big Buck," was caught in the fall of 2021— he was vibrant with his red belly and classic cutthroat cheeks!
I try to encapsulate the feeling of what it's like to have a perfect moment with this wild animal. That's why I started the series "The Fish l've Met" back in 2020. Each fish carries their own energy, as do I when I go fishing. Wading chest deep in water, having no room to backcast, or being in a bad headspace, are all challenges which make actually landing a big fish that much more rewarding. There are days I may beg to catch just one, but the universe won't allow it. Yet, sometimes the yin and yang balance out perfectly— that moment is what I like to paint.
"Big Buck," is limited edition of 25 numbered and signed prints. Each are 8" x 12" with archival ink on watercolor paper. They are framed beautifully in reclaimed wood, handcrafted by my neighbor Bill. Bill is retired navy, was a county electrician for years, and has been coming to Prichard for almost six decades. He's one of the kindest and supportive people l've met up river, and is a staple to our town. His work in itself is art, and no two frames are alike. Most are live edge and sourced from local timber. Please note a request of wood for the frame at checkout.
