"The Skye" Dentalium & Labradorite Earrings
“The Skye” earrings are inspired by a good summer storm. They are handcrafted out of a shell called dentalium, labradorite gemstones, sterling silver beads, and cowhide.
Dentalium is a type of sea mollusk whose shell is in the shape of a small horn. Historically the shell was collected and used as currency, and even displayed as dowry among coastal tribes in the Pacific Northwest. Each are hand painted with silver enamel to add extra shine! Faceted labradorite hangs off the bottom like a raindrop. Sterling silver lever back ear wires make sure the earring won’t be lost.
Measurements: 1” wide by 2.25” long. Dentalium and labradorite are organic materials. Each pair has matched stones and will vary compared to pictures.
These earrings are named after my best friend who has been my art partner for over a decade. She helped me with designing Eagle Eye’s logo! Love you froond!
